On January 26th, 2023, at 10am in our Performing Arts Center, Creshaw STEMM Magnet High School will honor ALL students with a GPA of 3.0 and higher. Parents are welcome to join us for the celebration.

- Charles R. Drew University
Charles R. Drew University is offering a paid research opportunity to 11th grade students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. CDU has a long history of supporting minorities interested in pursuing a career in Science, Medicine and Research, they have long standing partnerships with UCLA and USC. I have personally interned at CDU & USC (developing curriculum) and am currently a member of the IBC (Institutional Biosafety Committee) at CDU. This internship opportunity was shared with us by AMGEN (of which I am a Master teacher fellow). All that to say, I highly recommend this opportunity for our students. La Universidad Charles R. Drew ofrece una oportunidad de investigación pagada a estudiantes de 11° grado con un GPA de 3.0 o superior. CDU tiene una larga historia de apoyo a las minorías interesadas en seguir una carrera en ciencia, medicina e investigación, tienen asociaciones de larga data con UCLA y USC. Personalmente hice una pasantía en CDU y USC (desarrollando plan de estudios) y actualmente soy miembro del IBC (Comité Institucional de Bioseguridad) en CDU. Esta oportunidad de pasantía fue compartida con nosotros por AMGEN (del cual soy un Master Teacher Fellow). Todo eso para decir que, recomiendo esta oportunidad para nuestros estudiantes. - AYSO Soccer Program (From Dr. Sample)
With the recent passing of Soccer Star Pele, it has never been more clear that Soccer is a universial sport enjoyed by a diverse fan base. AYSO is currently accepting new players. The Spring season is open for registration through the link: SPRINGSOCCER. Spring season dates are March 11 - May 21, 2023. Their fields are located at 5401 S. Fairfax Ave., Los Angeles, 90056 (By the Home Depot on Slauson and Fairfax). Please note that fields are closed for maintenance until February 1st, 2023.

Con el reciente fallecimiento de la estrella del fútbol Pelé, nunca ha sido más claro que el fútbol es un deporte universal disfrutado por una base diversa de fanáticos. AYSO actualmente está aceptando nuevos jugadores. La temporada de primavera está abierta para registrarse a través del enlace: SPRINGSOCCER. Las fechas de la temporada de primavera son del 11 de marzo al 21 de mayo de 2023. Sus campos están ubicados en 5401 S. Fairfax Ave., Los Ángeles, 90056 (junto a Home Depot en Slauson y Fairfax). 4. January 16th, 2022 - No School- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Observed
Many of us are familiar with Dr. King's I have a Dream Speech. I'd like to share an excerpt from one of his less famous speeches - Sleeping through the Revolution aka "Remaining Awake through A Great Revolution".
It is important that we prepare our students for the "Revolution" we are currently living in (Technology, Social Upheval, 21st Century skills and more). Parents we need your support to ensure that our students do not get left behind. Wholistic development of our children can only happen when we work as a team. This speech was shared with me by my parents - Dr. Kings Words are just as pertinent as when he shared them on March 31st, 1968.

Muchos de nosotros estamos familiarizados con el discurso Tengo un sueño del Dr. King. Me gustaría compartir uno de sus discursos menos famosos: Durmiendo durante la revolución aka "Remaining awake through a great revolution".
Es importante que preparemos a nuestros estudiantes para la "Revolución" en la que vivimos actualmente (tecnología, agitación social, habilidades del siglo XXI y más). Padres, necesitamos su apoyo para asegurar que nuestros estudiantes no se queden atrás. El desarrollo holístico de nuestros hijos solo puede ocurrir cuando trabajamos en equipo. Mis padres compartieron este discurso conmigo: las palabras del Dr. King son tan pertinentes como cuando las compartió el 31 de marzo de 1968.

"It's Bigger Than Us" is having their 3 annual back to school celebration! There will be a back pack give away, discussion pannel and the opportunity to pick up enrollment packet. School starts August 15th!
