On Friday April 6th, nearly 40 community organizations, colleges, and employers attended the 2018 Crenshaw High School Career Fair. More than half of the Crenshaw students attended the event and learned about exciting vocational and career opportunities.
District PFEP, School PFEP and Parent Compact mailed home on Febuary 2, 2018.
On March 22nd, Crenshaw students participated in "We Build", an event sponsored by LAUSD Small Business Program along with the SoCal chapter of The National Organization of Minority Architects. Their mission is to champion diversity in the Architectural and Engineering professionals.
On April 4th, we will have be finalizing our budget for next school year during our SSC meeting. The meeting will be held in the Parent Center at 5 pm. Led by our Assistant Principal, Ms. Stanton, Girl Talk is a mentoring and leadership development club focusing on the relationship between and among girls of color. We are in full affect! On 3/15 we honored 133 students for making the Honor Roll. In addition to those students, 66 students also made it on the Principal's Honor Roll list, meaning they achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the fall 2017 semester. We also had 6 students who were awarded for being in our "E Club", as they received all E's in all of their classes for work habits and cooperation. Following our Honors Assembly we had parent teacher conferences and distributed report cards.
This year Crenshaw students had a very successful educational experience surrounding National Pi Day on 3/14 & 3/15. Lead by Math Department Chair, Dr. Ashford, the celebration for Pi Day was full of fun interactive activities such as bracelet making, graphing the sky line, t-shirt making, circumference of an oreo, and more. Each student received a mini pie as a reward for participating.
