History

Crenshaw High School opened its doors as an experimental school January 28, 1968. Parents, Crenshaw Community groups, and the Los Angeles Unified School Districts Board of Education worked harmoniously together in planning the outstanding programs that are a part of our rich history at Crenshaw High School. You are becoming a part of our great heritage and hopefully the information provided on this website will assist you in making a positive adjustment to school life at Crenshaw High School. Crenshaw High School recently received a six-year accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the year 2017.

Our graduates have excelled as Mayors and in public service, as well as in the field of law, medicine, education, professional sports, visual and performing arts, culinary arts, as well as corporate executives and skilled craftsmen in a variety of industries. Crenshaw graduates have proven to society that we can and do make positive contributions to our society, which is evident across the nation through our accomplishments and civic duty.
