Welcome to My Page!

I have more than twenty-five years’ experience in the Los Angeles Unified School District where I began my journey as a classified employee. In 2000 I made the rewarding career change to teaching that has allowed me to pass on my love of education to others. I have worked as a Career Technical Education (CTE) Instructor and Teacher Advisor in Business Education. I taught Computer Literacy, Office Assistance, English as a Second Language, and GED Prep classes. I have also worked as a Proctor for the High School Equivalency Exam. Though I love to teach and see it as an honor to pass on my love for education to others; I am also an advocate for students so, becoming an Academic Counselor was the natural progression. Helping students achieve academic success has been both rewarding and gratifying. Being a BSAP Counselor is a role I take very seriously because it affords me an opportunity to be a champion for the success of students who look like me, Black students.

I am a life-long learner and have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from California State University Los Angeles; a Masters of Arts degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding from California State University Dominguez Hills; and a Masters of Science degree in Educational Counseling from the University of La Verne.
