In the Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Pathway students can explore their creativity through music, art, visual art, and dance. Learning the skills and knowledge for creating, refining, and sharing works in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment industry promotes teamwork, communication, creative thinking, and decision-making abilities. These are all traits needed to function successfully in the competitive and media-rich 21st century. Whether the student has already achieved a level of accomplishment or demonstrated an interest or potential to grow in an art form, Visual and Performing Arts Magnets provide highly rewarding learning experiences.

Here at Crenshaw High School students study the arts and have the opportunity to realize the value of the role that the arts play in the human experience. Students acquire and extend their knowledge while developing their potential for lifelong amateur or professional endeavors in the arts. Students recognize the arts as an essential part of the curriculum and as an important component in the enrichment of their lives. Curricula include visual arts, dance, band, vocal, digital arts and media and graphic design. Students can also earn certifications in desktop publishing and digital imaging. Classes are planned to address the broad range of individual differences, talents, and interests of all high school students and provide balance and enrichment to the total program.
