STEMM Magnet students win big at Engineering competition!

This past Saturday, February 20, 2016, student's from the Crenshaw STEMM magnet competed in the Association of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 22nd Annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition.  ASCE annually hosts the Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition (PSBC) for the high school students in the Los Angeles, Orange County and San Bernardino/Riverside County areas. This event brings together hundreds of local high school students to participate in a full-day celebration of math, science, and engineering. This was Crenshaw STEMM Magnet's first year participating. Under the leadership of Mildred Costo, STEMM Magnet Lead Teacher, this year the Cougars were able to sweep the board for New Participating schools by bringing home multiple awards in the following categories: 

3rd Place New Participating School
Luis Galdamez, Diana Martinez, Adrianna Murray-Wheeler, and Mindy Estrada 
2nd Place New Participating School
Jade Lazenby, Natalie Nunez, Cristina Orozco, and Christopher Romero 
1st Place New Participating School
Michelle Bailey, Ronnie Smith Jr, Dupri Lewis, and Cleavon, Bronner 
2nd Place Bridge Strength
