AP US History (Period 3)
Course Description
This course serves the purpose of exposing high school students to United States History on a college level. In this course students will take a tour of this country, from its beginnings to the present. It deeply analyzes our presidents, wars, laws, social justice, technology, foreign policy, culture, gender issues, etc. Students who take this course should be ready for an intense journey through U.S. History as well being prepared for class discussions, debates, and document-based questions. The course culminates with the Advanced Placement test in May during the second semester, as well as with projects and noteworthy films. In order to take this course, students must have received and "A" in World History in 10th grade, and have been recommended by their World History teacher and counselor.
