American Literature Composition (Period 2)
Course Description
The major purpsoe of this course is to provide for further acquisiton of the American Experince as it's reflected in the literature. The content of the course consists of literature written by American writers and reflecting American life from the sixteenth century to the present. The course centers on the core literature of the elventh grade curriculum. Students are cencouraged to extend reading, writing, speaking, listening and critical thinking skills for effective reception and expresion of ideas in response to the works of America's great writers and thinkers.
