Assignment

Design simple character models in the style of Mr. Hiroshi Yoshii
Task - Develop simple, colorful, and highly interesting characters from primitive geometry that is smooth sub-divided and poly-painted. Your final characters will be exported as OBJ files for display in a class-wide virtual art gallery.

I. Follow Mr. Webb's Demonstration
- Starting from primitive objects (Cube, Sphere, Cylinder)
- Extruding Faces & topology
- Subdivision Modes
- Polypainting
- Exporting the final model

II. Design at least one character for each of the following types:
- A biped (upright 2-legged walking character, like a human)
- A biped with inverted knees (like an ostrich or emu)
- A quadruped (4-legged character, a dog, horse, etc.)

*The principles that we will cover in the demonstration are practically useful across every 3D app.  But to complete this project's task we'll mostly rely on Clara.io (since you can use it from home), Autodesk Maya, and Adobe Photoshop Extended (which has great 3D object texturing tools)

Attached is a sample bipedal character, modeled by Mr. Webb
