Backpacks, Hats and Sweaters
 
You and a partner will design 1.) the look of Crenshaw High themed backpacks, hats and sweaters, and 2.) develop an advertisement poster to get everyone interested in them.
 
Again, your designs can either be a Vector Illustration (Adobe Illustrator) or Image Collage-based (Photoshop, etc.).
 
PRE-PLANNING STAGE
First, you need to develop the shapes and style of the gear that you intend to make - by collecting reference images of similar items that you like, from the internet.
-Make a Microsoft Word document to collect photos of backpacks, hats and sweaters, then write comments concerning what you like about each one.

TASK: Design directions for a new student at Crenshaw HS (to get from the school's front entrance to your first period, and then to your third period.

Your poster should appear non-partisan, meaning all candidates should be shown as equivalently as possible, for example - candidate photos and text should appear in the same style and size, to show implicit equality).

ART TASK
Using Adobe Illustrator's shape tools (such as the Rectangle Tool [M], and the Ellipse Tool [L]) create a Flat Design image that includes a.) two people, b.) one vehicle, c.) and an environment setting, using only the colors in the enclosed swatch picture (flat-design-3.jpg; see attached).

Instructions to obtain the swatch picture's colors.
Step one. Open the Swatch picture in Illustrator (File>Open).

Step two. Press V for the Select Tool (aka. Black Arrow tool) and click on the     swatch picture. Then hold Command-C to copy the picture.

Step three.Hold Command-V to paste the swatch picture onto the document where you will be drawing the different Flat Design objects.

Step four. Press I to activate the Eye Dropper tool. With this tool you can click on any color in an image and sample it for use as your Fill or Stroke color.

1. Play the Beziér game - http://bezier.method.ac/ - to learn about drawing vector shapes with curves.  
Upon completion of the game take a screenshot of the congratulations window to submit to Mr. Webb for credit.  (SUBMIT YOUR SCREENSHOT TO [email protected]

2. Go to the METHOD DRAW web app - http://editor.method.ac/ - and freehand draw any 4 figures that were shown in the game, using the pen tool. Next add color.  Please FILL each shape with a different color (other than white), and change the STROKE (outline color) of each shape as well.

3. Do a Google search for 'company logos," and attempt to redraw an actual logo using Beziér curves

INSTRUCTIONS:  Inspire people to act on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday as a day of service toward others.
Design 3 posters depicting Dr King in modern sites of tragedy and hardship, and make an implicit remark that if we truly honor his dreams of a more equitable society then we would do more to stop the painful circumstances.
