Several students were granted onsite admissions and scholarships to schools such as Southern University, Paine University, Benedict College, Miles College, Alabama State University, and many others.
We look forward to taking our Cougars to the Black College Expo, February 10, 2018 at the Los Angeles Convention Center for the opportunity to be admitted to even more schools! Any students interested in attending please see Ms. Hardridge or Ms. Pelikhova for details.
There is a lot of press and awareness around Breast cancer; unfortunately, there is not the same awareness for Pancreatic cancer. November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, and Thursday, November 16, 2017 is World Pancreatic Cancer Day, where people around the world unite to Demand Better in the fight against the world's toughest cancer. Purple is Pancreatic cancer’s ribbon color. Please join Crenshaw students and faculty by wearing purple this month, as often as you can.
One of our staff members has been directly affected by this disease and she and her family have championed this cause by creating an annual 5K Walk to honor her brother’s memory. Their goal is to bring awareness to this devastating disease by raising funds to support research for early detection. You can support their efforts by joining in their annual walk on Saturday, November 25, 2017 or by making a donation to their team.

Our community day was held October 28th at 10am. We honored our employee's of the year and several volunteers for their hard work and dedication to Crenshaw. This year's theme was a Fall Festival, and in addition to a great breakfast, several families from within the community had a wonderful time playing games and winning prizes. We look forward to next year's Fall Festival and we invite everyone to join us!
The Shaw was representing at the 12th Annual Taste of Soul on October 21st! Several community members and alumni were able to stop by our booth and show their cougar pride. The band and Cougarettes also marched in the parade and performed at the Lula Washington Dance Theatre's Dance All Day event. It was a fantastic day to connect with the community!
