CYFC

The CYFC Afterschool Program is an academic and educational enrichment based program that focuses on the academic and socioemotional success of the students at Crenshaw High School. The program operates Monday through Friday for a minimum of three hours a day, beginning as soon as the instructional day ends. We provide a safe and productive environment where students can receive daily homework help and tutoring, participate in enrichment activities and partake in a nutritious snack.

The CYFC afterschool program focuses on the two key components of the expanded learning division of the California Department of Education, academic enrichment and educational enrichment. Below is a brief description of each and the various activities offered at Crenshaw for grades 9-12.

  • Academic Enrichment: Everyday, students have the opportunity to participate in activities that directly enhance their academic success at Crenshaw High School. Academic activities build upon the skills students have learned throughout the instructional day in their classes. Activities offered are Homework Help, Advanced Placement subject tutoring, Single Subject Tutoring, Math Tutoring, English as a Second Language(ESL) Tutoring, SAT/ACT Test Prep, and many more.

  • Educational Enrichment: Students have the opportunity to participate in activities that will build upon their socioemotional learning while enhancing their 21st Century life skills for success in and out of the classroom. Activities offered include Driver’s Education courses, Marching Band, hip-hop dance, baseball skills, chess club, boxing and many more.
