Welcome to My Page!
Greetings Crenshaw Family,
Over the sixteen years of my educational career within LAUSD, I had the privilege to serve the diverse student population at Los Angeles High School as an ELA/ELD teacher, ELA Department Chair, ELA Literacy Coach, and Title III Instructional Coach. I’m so excited to join the Crenshaw HS educational community in the role of Title III Instructional English Learner Coach during the school year 2020-2021!
My Role & Responsibilities:
The role of the Title III EL Instructional Coach is to build capacity and provide the support that ensures all English Learner (EL) students develop proficiency in academic English and have equitable access to a standards-based Comprehensive English Language Development (ELD) Instructional program. I support the consistent implementation of the District’s Title III Initiatives, English Learner Master Plan, CA ELD standards, English Language Arts (ELA)/ELD Framework, and related professional development and instructional planning for EL students.
As the Title III EL Instructional Coach, I work collaboratively with general and special education teachers, administrators, directors, program coordinators, content area instructional coaches, and other staff to develop effective and consistent use of evidence-based pedagogy in literacy and language instruction across the content areas using a multi-tiered approach to teaching and learning.
The Title III EL Instructional Coach works directly with teachers of EL students to apply these practices during Designated and Integrated ELD instruction and provides services to support students to reclassify and decrease the number of Potential-Long Term English Learner (P-LTEL) and Long-term English Learner (LTEL) students.
