Welcome

Greetings!

My name is Dr. Nykia K. Smith and I am an educator/life long learner! I have taught Advanced Placement English Language, Speech/Debate, English 9A/B, American Literature, Expository Comp/Modern Literature, and a host of other ELA courses. Aside from teaching, I have served as a Dance, Cheer, Debate, and Instructional Coach. Intertwining all of those roles, I am now the Categorical Program Adviser/Title 1 Coordinator, and the Testing Coordinator here at Crenshaw High School. I have two Bachelor's Degrees from UCLA in Sociology and Psychology, a Master in Education with an English Credential and an Educational Doctorate in Organizational Leadership both from Pepperdine University. Ultimately, I am super excited about the power of education and how it affects lives, especially of those of minority/impoverished students. Overall, education is my life and I live vicariously through the knowledge evoked in my students.
